The story behind our call and commitment to the Cocoa value chain of Ghana:
Cocoa Farmer, Cocoa Farmer.. How do you do, How do you do.. Do you have some chocolate, Do you have some Chocolate Yes I do, I do Yes I do, I do!
The above song was the first and favorite nursery rhyme our CEO and Founder, Mrs Abigail Akua Hammond learnt on her first day at school when she forcibly started schooling because her elder siblings were going to school. Every member of the family had to learn the song because she sang it all the time! The song gave her an interest and passion for cocoa and chocolate and she grew up with the knowledge that the cocoa farmer always had chocolate’.
So, it was a surprise when she read an article in 2017 that said: GHANA IS KNOWN FOR HER COCOA BUT NOT HER CHOCOLATE!
Disappointed, she read and researched further: and this was the sad reality she discovered :
The Global chocolate industry is worth over US$ 130 billion but Ghana earns only US$2 billion of the total industry worth though it supplies 30% of the total global supply as the second largest producer. Leading to a significant Gap in value addition to Ghana’s Premium cocoa.
So after losing her job in a finance house during the 2017-2018 banking clean up exercise, She decided it was time to pursue her passion in chocolate and Cocoa processing and the rest is:

As a business we impact our community and country by providing quality and nutritional products for our customers as part of a healthier lifestyle.
Secondly, we add value to Ghana’s single origin cocoa beans whilst contributing to the economic growth and development of Ghana.
Thirdly, our business also contributes its quota to Ghana’s economic growth by creating employment opportunities to our staff and all involved in our value chain hence reduction in unemployment and poverty.
Lastly, for every bottle of Addwills Premium Chocolate Shake purchased, a percentage goes to the Addwills cares project, a project that seeks to provide financial and educational support, mentorship and training to children, youth and women especially in the deprived cocoa growing communities in Ghana to curb the menace of child Labor and slavery on our Cocoa farms.
